PT | A gestação de gémeos tem associada um maior risco que uma gravidez normal. Por vezes, os gémeos esão unidos de tal forma que se dá uma tranfusão de sangue entre os bebés, levando a situações de risco. Um grupo de investigadores da Universidade do Porto identificou um gene que vai permitir testar a existencia deste sindrome, evitando complicações e melhorando a vida de milhares de mulheres.

Sometimes, the babies in the womb are connected in such a way that a blood transfusion happens, leading to severe complications. A group of researchers from the University of Porto has identified a gene that allows the early screening of this syndrome, preventing further risks and improving the lives of thousands of women.
